There is no magic wand... You just need to climb more. Do them all. Consistency is key, not riding for 2-3 weeks makes any fitness drop off rapidly and then you're basically starting again.Obviously I want to improve my climbing endurance, and I know it's been mentioned before (can't remember where) so am I better off finding longer more gradual climbs rather than extreme grinds?

Your frame has sliding dropouts? Current wheel is HG splined freehub?Looking to convert my Chameleon to single speed. I am sure that this have been discussed many times. Could not find the thread. Could someone please point me to it and perhaps recommend their favourite kit for converting? Thanks
AliExpress has a problem solvers single speed cog and carrier knockoff.Your frame has sliding dropouts? Current wheel is HG splined freehub?
Any kit with a wider base cog and a variety of spacers will do. Surly and maybe wolftooth make wide base cogs.
I've got a aliexpress muzqui (muzqui?) version on my dirt jumper. Has been alright.AliExpress has a problem solvers single speed cog and carrier knockoff.
Thanks. Sliding dropouts and HG hub, yep. I read on another forum to look for thicker cogs not stamped ones. Sound right?Your frame has sliding dropouts? Current wheel is HG splined freehub?

32/16 is pretty forgiving for someone with young knees. I like 30/16 or 32/17. I have run 30/19 and that made for a lot of spinning! Currently running 30/16 and loving it.@Labcanary, fjohn860 thanks. Any hints on a chain ring/ cog ratio or numbers?
Yep, thicker base cogs forever. They won't chew your freehub as much as the thinner base cogs.Thanks. Sliding dropouts and HG hub, yep. I read on another forum to look for thicker cogs not stamped ones. Sound right?
I'm running 34:13. Seems to suit me just about right.@Labcanary, fjohn860 thanks. Any hints on a chain ring/ cog ratio or numbers?
Thicker sprockets are still likely to be stamped, but they will give better chain contact, so will wear better. Traditional single-speed stuff uses a 1/8" (3.2mm) sprocket thickness/chain internal width, plus taller teeth vs the 3/32" (2.38mm) or narrower found on multi-speed systems. However it's worth bearing in mind that N/W chainrings are nearly always made for narrow 3/32" or 11/128" chains, so the wider 1/8" chains will not sit as snugly on the teeth.Thanks.
