Maybe mix it up? Shiraz to write it...espresso shots to interpret it?I figure I’ll need a few Shiraz for it to make sense to me…

I remember getting 3 sets of Bontrager Line alloy wheels warranty replaced. Some brand new ones came dented out of the box.Bontrager Line wheels too.
I rebuilt #1 sons with DT Swiss M502 and new DT Comps, we are only persisting with the WTB rims because we already had the spare rims.
Joiners Channel is a pretty good dive, it's even worth a swim out to the rock at the boat ramp. There's plenty of tasty things out there if you're that way inclined. If you thought yesterday’s ride was slack…
Tell you what though, a half an hour of boogie boarding, has me aching and wrenched all over.
we gotta go home tomorrow… bleeding.

Thanks, that’s good to know. Last time we here, we had a swim there… and there were two people snorkeling… next time we’ll bring our gear.Joiners Channel is a pretty good dive
Did you sort that grinding noise?Hit the second half of coondoo today. Gave the wallrides a miss, reckon I'll wait until I'm riding with someone to hit those for the first time.

I, on the other hand, did my first morning ride in 6 months. No lights needed at 5.40am, kids away. Gold.Woke up early with the intention of getting a ride in before work. 'Twas pissing down so went back to bed
Will try for an after work ride when the local paths will be packed...
YeahDid you sort that grinding noise?
Chain guide won't make a difference, it doesn't touch the tensioned side of the chain at all (i.e. at the top of the chain ring where you're having issues). Answer will be removing the BB spacer as others mentioned, to shift the chain ring inboard 2.5mm.Yeah
Riding faster, only using higher gears haha.
No I haven't yet, but my plan is to get my 3d printer running again and print some spacers for the chainring to reduce the angle the chain hits the chainring at. I take it adding a chain guite like the image below would fix the grinding, but potentially shorten chain life as I'd be pushing the chain pivot point closer to the cassette, increasing the angle? I'm guessing it wouldn't shorten the chain life significantly though.
Or thinner spacers if 2.5 is too much.Answer will be removing the BB spacer as others mentioned, to shift the chain ring inboard 2.5mm.
Cheers mate. My worrys with this areChain guide won't make a difference, it doesn't touch the tensioned side of the chain at all (i.e. at the top of the chain ring where you're having issues). Answer will be removing the BB spacer as others mentioned, to shift the chain ring inboard 2.5mm.
a) 2.5mm (or less if you swap the spacer for another thinner option) is a very small number. I'd be extremely surprised if you have less than 5mm clearance between crank and chain stay. Hard to tell from the pic below but looks like chainring clearance is likely okay also - in any case, printing spacers to shift the chainring inboard relative to the crank will still reduce chainring-chainstay clearance so won't solve that issue if it's of concern.Cheers mate. My worrys with this are
a) I'll start bashing my pedals/chainring into the rear triangle. Hence moorey's suggestion for different sized spacers.
b) this will offset my pedals to the left-hand side of the bike? This seems like a pretty crap side-effect to deal with, hence my desire to print some spacers.
Always good to get out early. Garmin computer says 6:10 start today for me. Not another rider to be seen. No walkers, either.I, on the other hand, did my first morning ride in 6 months. No lights needed at 5.40am, kids away. Gold.View attachment 383755
This is why Crack of Dawners are the best. The only hassle is getting up.Always good to get out early. Garmin computer says 6:10 start today for me. Not another rider to be seen. No walkers, either.
