great pics

the albums on Facebook look great. congrats to the photographer for catching some real action right across the board. was a great day of racing on some fantastic trails. the crit really wasn't my thing, but each to their own. personally I would much rather be riding single track than rail trails

<yawn> All the photos have now been uploaded. Dirt Squirts currently only shown by number (I probably will not be putting names to these on the web but if any parent(s) wants their childs images, let me know the age group and name).

Took a while yesterday finishing these in between other 'chores' around the house and keeping the two dogs from running riot wanting to play all the time!

http://mtb-images.com.au <-- PLEASE use this link in case I move the gallery in the future - this main address will always guarantee you can find where I have hidden errrr moved them too :)

Some cracking shots there Steve!

If you want me to be super fussy I did find a minor error - clicking on the Dirt Squirts link shows the dirt squirts pictures but the directory is displayed as -> http://www.mtb-images.com.au/12012InterWinter/8420120812-TimeTrial/

BTW the pictures with the grazes and ripped knicks currently labelled "unknown" - that was me :)

I knew that.

You knew that.

I was being polite - but, now that you have outed yourself :eyebrows: I'll change it...

Hmmmm maybe you need a nice, big, 3 m x 1.5 m bl;ow up of it to hang up at the next few rounds you race in - just to let others know you have legs (damn - now I've got that ZZTop song going through my head and I willNEVER be able to get your images out of my mind when I hear it!!!) :disturbed:

For your viewing pleasure..

For reasons I can't fathom, people seem to enjoy my pain, and some of you may also know that i had a little off right in front of Srowe on the ITT, so here's something for your wank bank.

I've seen that trick before - blue cellophane over a torch. :)
Oh, the jokes, they just roll off. But so unsuitable for minors:p

But seriously, is it as sore as it looks, no riding this week for you?

I am guessing someone won't be able to wank with a bruised hand like that

Relieved to report it LOOKS worse than it feels now, and swelling/bruising almost gone already. I suspect 3 fingers to be fractured, but I can grip the bars, so the ride goes on.
I almost wussed out of the xco, but it's Cressy FFS.....I'd ride that track in traction. :clap2:

WTF are you doing typing on a computer then, see a doctor FFS and get a bloody X-Ray done!
I did far less damage a few years ago and ended up with multiple broken fingers, which can get much worse if they don't heal in the right place.

What will they do, strap them? The wife is a nurse and she's not pestering me to check them out (then again, this is the woman that gave me Panafon and told me to lie down when I broke my neck).
I went down to A&E on Monday, but there were 200 carnies there. I wouldn't EVER have got seen with sore fingers.
Im not trying to be macho about it, I'm a freakin sook, I just doubt there's anything they can/will do, considering that if they DID strap them up, I know id remove it for work and riding.

Two things spring to mind here:

1. What is a registered nurse (I am presuming she IS a registered nurse??) doing giving you ANY drugs without proper medical advice? Isn't that cause for de-registration????

2. Whether a PROPER medical specialist can only splint it or not, it is done that way for a purpose - to prevent further damage!

I would have thought common sense would be used here, but I guess not....

Anyway - back on topic.....

Cool your jets, Stevie. She's a practicing ICU nurse.
Re, neck: I rode home after the fall, rang her at work, said it was a little stiff, that it was probably fine and that I was going to have a warm bath. I reckon I understated the fall, not wanting to get a bollocking from her. Way to jump to conclusions though, mate. Last time I checked, my wife suggesting panadol isn't quite tantamount to dispensing me 'drugs'

Re, fingers: Yep, I know the risks of doing nothing, but I'll wear that, if worst comes to worst. Did I mention 'cool your jets'?

Back on topic, how have the tracks recovered after the pounding on the weekend?
And back off topic for just a sec if I may, didn't you break your neck dropping off a foot high thingo in a kiddies playground on your old mountain bike?
