Hi Guys. Nick Here from Sunny Coast QLD

Hi everyone, found this forum throught the MTBR forums and thought id take a peek. it seems there are a few Aussie members here which is a nice change.

I currently own a 2008 Brodie Brute hard tail with a few mods that i am looking to sell. I am also in the process of purchasing a Santa Cruz Blur LT alloy in R AM spec with Elixir CR brakes (the R spec comes with Elixir 5's) Which i cant wait to take to my local trails at Parklands.

Any Sunny coasters feel free to shout out. im always keen for a ride.....thought i cant promise you i wont do a lot of falling off :)

About time i posted something

Well its been about 18months since I joined rotorburn so about time for my first post.
My name is Andrew, I am 30, 6'3" and weigh somewhere in the vicinity of 108-115kg whilst riding depending if i take camelbak etc. I tend to ride more on the side of all mountainish I guess at ourimbah, awaba, glenrock. I can't jump or do big drops and I am sure its to do with my body positioning as I used to be ok when i was 15 and half my weight.

I have 4 bikes all up, initially starting with a specialized hardrock which i have since built up with some mavic819's running crossmark tubeless, 2008 revelation 426's and some xt brakes as I found the initial tora's and avid 3 brakes just didnt handle me on the trail.
I then picked up an Ironhorse 6.4 to handle my inability to pick decent smooth lines on fire trails etc. Its a great little bike but has now been superceded by a reign x0 which i think is brilliant. The reign x0 was built pretty much from scratch, frame from a fellow rotorburner, drive train, brakes and wheel set from chain reaction and forks, 2010 revelation team uturns from lbs, drift bikes.
Finally the last bike is a morewood ndiza, built almost entirely from fellow rotorburner bits with the exception of a new set of cranks which i picked up from crc. This bike is brilliant as well, i would like to upgrade the forks in the future but other then that I am very happy with it. I just wish i had somewhere more 4x ish to ride it in Newcastle. It is great fun through Glenrock and if i switched up to some larger tyres i think it would be a blast at the ourimbah dh course where I have taken the ironhorse 6.4 before.

So that pretty much covers my introduction. Will probably post up some pics of my various bikes in the standard post your "xxxx" bike here thread down the line.

Hi all!

I'm James, 28 from Lismore NSW. I used to ride years ago and am just getting back into it again. I'm currently riding XC on a 2010 Giant XTC2, but am feeling the lure of a bit of DH too!

Nice forum you guys have going here. Hope to see some of you around :)

Hi all,

I'm a 30yo from Darwin who has been bitten by the cycling bug.

I've been commuting for a few years now and completed the 140km Bay in a Day challenge last year, but want to get a bit more serious and expand to trails and touring. I've just picked up a 2009 Avanti Hammer and am stoked to have my hands on a decent piece of hardware.

Hi,
I'm rejoining the sport after pretty much 10 years off the bike. I've currently got an 98 Specialized FSR that's about be replaced. With what? That's one reason I joined here!
I also fly RC Helicopters and moderate for an Australian forum, soI'm familiar with how helpful forums can be, especially Aussie ones! Looking forward to participating!

G'day

Obviously I'm new, and after naively posting a thread to sell my Husky enduro ticket without trading permission, I finally read the introduction threads of which have led me to here. I am new to the sport (MTB - XC) as a result of finally realising that I am getting a little too long in the tooth to continue on playing contact sports.
I recently purchased a Specialised XC - Comp, a nice little cheap bike to introduce myself into the wonderful world of MTB.
My purpose of joining Rotoburn is to hopefully find out about new tracks and share my experiences with others.

New to the sport

Hi,
New to the sport and I am looking into getting into x-c/freeride. First thing is first and need to get a set of wheels to start me of. Currently in negotiations with SWMBO on my spending limits.

Looking forward to learning from all the wisdom on this forum and maybe meeting up with some like minded people in the Canberra region to do some rides with.

Untill the new wheels arrive I will be spending most of the time on the roadie and the old hard tail.

Ambition for this year depending on injury healing will be to maybe compete in the Scott 24 in a team. If not this year will def be next year.

Hello!

Hi all.

I've been riding a road bike for a while now but have started doing some xc too. Mostly at Eagle mtb park but also Shepherd's Hill and Kuitpo forest and a few other places in Adelaide. I'm hoping to get some ideas on where to ride and how to stop falling off as much!

Cheers, Matt

First Post

Hello,

New to MTB'ing and rotorburn.

I am a photographer and probably met a few of you at the shop I work at when you were checking out my photo's during interschools in Thredbo. Thanks to those of you that told me to check out this site.

I lived near Bulli before moving to Thredbo last May.
Many of my friends do DH.
As a teenager I raced BMX and rode well into my 20's.
I really like 4X which makes sense because I also enjoy boarderX in winter.

Looking forward to getting to know the site more, all of you and maybe posting some photos.
Sebastian.
